Although my work traditionally focuses on major gifts and capital campaigns, I have diverged the past few years to help startups develop their infrastructure, manage their online communications and their online fundraising “crowd” campaigns. I was impressed by GoFundMe’s recently released 2016 year-end report and infographic (link: I helped one Austin-based nonprofit flesh out its GoFundMe profile, to launch regular information updates for donors, and to acknowledge some 80 contributors. Does anyone else out there use GoFundMe to fundraise, and if so, what experiences have you had? Do you like it? Wearing my nonprofit advisory “hat,” I would love to know what others working on GoFundMe think. Thanks!
